Irmo Police officer arrested, charged with domestic violence

Irmo, S.C. (WOLO)– A spokesperson for the Irmo Police Department says Officer Brandon McLaurin was arrested Tuesday on charges of domestic violence following an altercation at his home in the New Friarsgate subdivision.

Police say the incident is being investigated by the Richland Co. Sheriff’s Dept.

Officials say McLaurin was immediately terminated following the incident.

According to a spokesperson, McLaurin had served with the department since May of 2019.

Chief Bobby Dale, of the Irmo Police Department, stated “We hold our officers to the
highest standards of conduct, both on and off duty. The alleged actions of Officer McLaurin are
deeply concerning and do not reflect the values of our department.”
