COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) – The Richland County Coroner’s Office has identified the homicide victim of a shooting at an apartment complex on Saturday.

Coroner Naida Rutherford says Marquicas D. Taylor, 23, of Columbia, was found shot at the Colony Apartments.

Columbia Police say they responded after receiving a Shotspotter alert shortly before 1:30 a.m.

He was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Ballistic evidence was collected on scene.

Officers say they are working on promising leads as the case is being investigated by the Violent Crimes Against Persons Unit.
