SCHP investigates deadly accident involving pedestrian
Horry Co., SC (WOLO) — The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly car crash involving a pick up driver officials say struck and killed a pedestrian.
According to Lance Corporal Lina Butler with SCHP, the accident took place around 1:07 Thursday evening when the driver of a 2020 Ford Ranger Pick-Up truck was heading north along Nash Street and attempted to turn onto a private property authorities say is located just outside of Myrtle Beach.
Troopers say the pick-up struck a person who was standing outside facing East when they were by the oncoming car. SCHP says the pedestrian was driven to the Grand Strand Regional Hospital where authorities say the victim succumb to his injuries.
The circumstances surrounding the crash remains under investigation.
