Starbucks offers free reusable straws

(CNN)– Fast food establishments are ramping up their efforts to be more sustainable. For Starbucks, part of the effort involves free reusable straws.

Starbucks says Wednesday, July 10, anyone who orders a cold handcrafted drink, like an iced coffee, will be gifted a brightly-colored reusable straw.

The giveaway is part of the coffee giant’s broader efforts to become more eco-friendly and hopefully also generate revenue.

The chain has also been ramping-up discounts and orders in the past few months to rev-up sales.
