Riverbanks Zoo and Garden mourns loss of lion

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Riverbanks Zoo and Garden has announced the passing of a beloved lion.

According to a post on the zoo’s Facebook page, officials are heartbroken at the passing of Zuri, who was a resident at the zoo for nearly 20 years.

Zuri arrived at the zoo back in 2005 and fathered 13 cubs.

The zoo says he’ll be deeply missed but his legacy will live on in hearts.
