Eight new emojis coming to smartphones

(CNN)– Eight new emojis are coming to smartphones and computers.

They include an exhausted face with bags under its eyes and a flag for the remote island in the English Channel called Sark.

There are also a root vegetable, harp, shovel, and a purple splatter.

And a headless tree is meant to raise awareness of drought and climate change.

The popular emoji reference sit “Emojipedia” released sample images a few months ago.

Now, a non-profit that oversees global emojis standards and new releases has approved them.
