Officials with the Federal Emergency Management Agency say federal disaster assistance is available to South Carolina to aid in the recovery effort following Hurricane Helene.
Columbia, S.C. (WOLO)– Officials with the Federal Emergency Management Agency say federal disaster assistance is available to South Carolina to aid in the recovery effort following Hurricane Helene.
In the Midlands, this funding applies individuals in to Lexington, Newberry, and Saluda Co.
Officials say the funds can be used to cover temporary housing, home repairs, and low-cost loans to cover uninsured property.
A FEMA spokesperson says federal funds are also available to local governments.
In the Midlands this applies to Newberry and Saluda Counties.
According to a press release, those who sustained losses in the designated areas can begin applying for assistance by registering online at www.DisasterAssistance.gov, by calling 1-800-621- 3362 or by using the FEMA App.
