RCSD deputies investigating after body was found in Congaree River

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– Richland County deputies are investigating after a body was found, said the sheriff’s department.

According to RCSD, deputies were dispatched to the 600 block of Rosewood Drive after being alerted of a body being found in the Congaree River, around 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 1.

Richland County Sheriff’s Department said the coroner’s office will do an autopsy to determine cause of death, but there are no obvious signs of trauma.
