NAACP Former President Dr. Randolph Jr. dies
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — Over the weekend, the Columbia chapter of the NAACP announced the passing of Former President Dr. Lonnie Randolph Jr.
Randolph led the organization for 14 years, and was an advocate for King Day at the Dome as well as the removal of the confederate flag from the Statehouse.
The Dreher graduate went to college at Benedict and received the Order of the Palmetto in 2011.
Monday evening the Richland County Sheriff’s Department’s Citizen’s Advisory Committee released a statement saying in part,
“His loss is deeply felt, and we offer our sincere condolences to his family during this difficult time.
we are forever grateful for his contributions to our community and the RCSD.”
