Sumter Police: Ex-Husband charged in fatal shooting

SUMTER, SC (WOLO)– Sumter Police have arrested a man accused of killing his ex-wife.
Officers say they responded to a shooting Wednesday and found 79-year-old Sherri Redmond dead inside her home on Mimosa Road.
Her ex-husband, 78-year-old William Redmond Junior was present when officers arrived, say investigators.
Redmond was placed in custody and later booked at the detention center.
Police say he is charged with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
