Gov. McMaster nominates SC native to lead cabinet agency
COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO) — SC DPPPS.
It stands for the department of probation, parole and pardon services.
Thursday morning, Governor Henry McMaster named Jake Gadsden Jr. as the new head of the state’s department of probation, parole and pardon services.
During his almost four decades working in correctional facilities, Gadsden has worked with the head of South Carolina’s department of corrections, Bryan Stirling, and says he has learned a lot from him.
Stirling explains why he decided to nominate the South Carolina native for the position.
The Department of Corrections works alongside the probation, parole and pardon services to help people get back on their feet after being released from prison.
Gadsden says he is honored to be named director and ready to address the department’s challenges.
