Court hearing held for 20-year-old charged with attempted murder for shooting in Forest Acres
FOREST ACRES, (WOLO) — Forest Acres Police say 20-year-old Ty’Quan Kelly was in a domestic dispute around noon on Monday, firing into the victim’s car as she and three others left Ravenwood Apartments.
On Tuesday, a court hearing was held for Kelly at Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center to discuss bond.
FAPD is charging Kelly with two counts of attempted murder, discharging a firearm into a vehicle, aggravated breach of peace, and unlawful carrying of a weapon by a convicted felon.
The victim drove the car for about a mile before stopping in front of Bradley Elementary School to call police.
Nearby schools were placed on lockdown as well out of precaution including Brockman Elementary, Satchelford Elementary, The Timmerman School, Harmony School, and The Therapy Place.
Kelly was arrested around 4 pm on Monday while on foot near Bradley Elementary.
Authorities arrested Kelly for a third time last May after a mass shooting at Meadowlake Park where 11 people were injured. Kelly was 18-years-old at the time of that incident.
Deputies say Kelly was in a vehicle that sped from the park, throwing a pistol out of the window. However, that gun was found to not be involved in the shooting.
All three of his prior arrests involved firearms – including according to deputies, holding a gun to a woman’s head last April.
Because Kelly was already out on bond during yesterdays incident, the judge says his bond will be determined at a later date by a circuit court, according to law.
The judge says Kelly will remain at Alvin s. Glenn Detention Center until his official bond hearing which should be in about 8-10 days. Kelly’s attorney also told the judge that Kelly is an expecting father, with his child due in two weeks time.
