Community leaders call for parental support and accountability court
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– Community leaders and law enforcement say the Midlands is in urgent need of a parental support and accountability court.
Officials say the court would focus on the parents’ role in their children’s criminal behavior while providing access to resources and structured intervention programs.
Those who spoke today, say many of the crimes they are responding to may have been prevented at home.
Officials say the court would prioritize long-term solutions over punitive measures.
