South Carolina freezes tuition for certain colleges

Columbia, SC (WOLO) — College tuition. Seems almost like a certain thing like death or taxes. The state of South Carolina has frozen certain college tuitions for several years.

This goes for in-state and out of state costs. However many freeze the instate fees while out of state tuition will go up dramatically. for instance clemson got approved about a year ago for the 2025 school year freeze. The board also approved a 3.5 percent increase for out-of-

State tuition, only the second increase for non-resident students in the past five years.
USC is very similar in that a second year and a first year going for the same degree could pay drastically different tuition bills.

Students online, Michael d864 says “tuition is too high because colleges and universities have too much overhead waste.”

David the Brea wrote in, “Good decision, thank you.”

And Brian McGrath wrote, ” Now please follow North Carolina’s example and cap out of state admissions…”
