Sumter PD seeks men linked to incident leading up to Walmart shooting

SUMTER, S.C. (WOLO)– Two men are wanted on charges related to an incident that lead up to the February 14 fatal shooting at Walmart, say Sumter PD.

Sumter Police are looking for 20-year-old Chryshaun Nerome McKenzie and 20-year-old Semieon Zaire Helton-Hill in connection with an incident that happened the night of Feb. 13.

Investigators say the incident involved a dispute among some of the same individuals identified in the Walmart shooting.

Jaquante Montgomery, 24, died after he was shot inside the store at about 3 p.m. Feb. 14.

Chanceler Lowery, 19, turned himself in to police later that afternoon and was charged with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

Based on information developed as the investigation continues, warrants for breach of peace were issued by the police department in late February for McKenzie and Helton-Hill as well as Patrick Drevion Butler, 19, and Antione Kurry Price, 23, says the Sumter Police Department.

Butler and Price were placed in custody in March and have since been released on bond.

Both McKenzie and Helton-Hill are wanted for breach of peace.

McKenzie also is wanted by the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office on multiple charges, including attempted murder and armed robbery in connection with unrelated incidents outside of the city.
