Harvey Weinstein’s trial is underway with new victim set to testify

(CNN) — Harvey Weinstein’s retrial is underway in New York.

The disgraced Hollywood producer is facing charges from two indictments,  including rape allegations from three different women.
In opening statements wednesday, prosecutors detailed how Weinstein allegedly used his power and influence to prey on women with industry career aspirations.

Meanwhile, Weinstein’s lawyers told the jury he had long-term consensual relationships that were quote, “mutually beneficial.” two women who testified against Weinstein in the first trial are expected to testify again. A third woman is also expected to testify this time around.

Weinstein has been charged in connection to an altercation she alleges happened at a New York hotel when she was 19-years-old.
