One dead, 11 injured in Myrtle Beach shooting on Ocean Blvd.

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WOLO) — According to the Myrtle Beach Police Department’s Facebook page, on Saturday at around  11:50 p.m., officers with the Myrtle Beach Police Department observed a disturbance involving multiple individuals in the 900 block of North Ocean Boulevard.

During the altercation near 9th Avenue North on Ocean Boulevard, one individual began firing a weapon. At that time, based on the immediate threat, one of our officers responded by discharging their firearm. The officer involved was not injured. Eleven individuals have been identified as having sustained injuries during this incident and are receiving medical treatment.

The individual shot during officer response has passed away as a result of his injuries. Chief Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard reports that 18-year-old Jerrius Davis from Bennetsville was shot and killed around midnight.
