Ex-Miss Teen SC moving forward with help from mental health app
(ABC NEWS) — In 2007, Lexington’s Caitlin Upton went viral after her response to a question in the Miss Teen USA Pageant.
In the years that followed Upton said she endured mental health struggles compounded by what she says were unsupportive friends and an abusive relationship.
Now she is speaking out on behalf of “White Flag”, an app that allows people to reach out anonymously and discuss their mental health struggles with others going through similar issues.
In an interview with ABC’s Steve Osunsami, Upton looked back on her experience and how the app has helped her.
Upton, now 36, lives with her family in Arizona. For more information on White Flag, click here.
