The REAL ID Deadline is here

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)–Time is up. Today is the deadline to get a REAL ID.

Beginning May 7, 2025 you will need a REAL ID to fly, enter a federal building, or go onto a military base.
After years of pushing the deadline back, the Department of Homeland Security is enforcing the deadline.
If you don’t have a REAL ID or another accepted form of identification, such as a passport, you will likely face delays at airport security.
You will not, however, need a REAL ID id to drive, vote, or apply for benefits.
