(WCIV) — Make-A-Wish South Carolina held an awards brunch earlier this month, celebrating their 2025 W.I.S.H. Society honorees, who raised a Lowcountry record breaking $125,000 in support of children across South Carolina battling critical illnesses.
The W.I.S.H. Society, which stands for Women Inspiring Strength and Hope, honors women leaders who use their time, talents and networks to raise funds and awareness for Make-A-Wish SC.
“These women are a force of compassion, connection, and action,” said Shannon Rice, Community Engagement Manager for Make-A-Wish South Carolina. “They’ve poured their hearts into this effort, and their work will have a lasting impact on children and families right here in our community.”
The event featured an inspiring speech from Hart Peary, a wish mom, W.I.S.H. Society alum, and current Make-A-Wish South Carolina board member, who shared the story of her son Charlie’s wish.
Attendees also heard a keynote address from Sarah Irvin, founder of Quick Tan Sunless and the EmpowHER Women’s Conference. At the event, She spoke about resilience, reinvention, and the importance of showing up for others with purpose.
“The W.I.S.H. Society is proof that giving back is powerful,” added Misty Farmer, President & CEO of Make-A-Wish South Carolina. “When we work together, we move closer to our vision of granting the wish of every eligible child in South Carolina.”
