Governor McMaster signs South Carolina Energy Security Act

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– On Wednesday, June 18, Governor McMaster signed a bill he says will significantly improve the state’s ability to generate and deliver the power needed to keep pace with the state’s rapid economic growth and rising population.

Officials say the South Carolina Energy Security Act streamlines the regulatory review process for energy projects.

Governor McMaster says he thinks it is an idea that will catch on with other states.

According to the Census Bureau, South Carolina is the fifth fastest growing state in the country.
