Man pleads guilty for fatal Senate Street shooting

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Columbia Police say the man accused of a 2020 shooting has pled guilty on Monday.

Zachery Williams is accused of shooting Wesley Brown during an armed robbery.

Officers say Brown was walking alone along the 1700 block of Senate Street while attending a wedding in Columbia when he was killed.

On June 23, Williams pled guilty to voluntary manslaughter, and was sentenced to 27 years in prison in connection with the shooting.

The case against his co-defendant Xavier Glover is pending, according to CPD.
