Black bear enjoying a swim in Lake Wataree

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– It can get so hot in the Midlands even bears need to take a dip in the water.

That’s what one bear did in Fairfield County.

Deputies say a citizen took video of what appears to be an adult black bear enjoying a swim in Lake Wateree, right in front of the state park.

Authorities want to remind you that if you’re out enjoying the water or trails, please stay aware of your surroundings and give all wild animals their space.
