Local Living: Independence Day celebrations

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)— In today’s look at Local Living, there will be several places celebrating the Fourth of July this week.

Fort Jackson’s fireworks celebration starts this Friday.

It’s from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Hilton Parade Field.

You and the family can enjoy carnival rides, food trucks, plus a fireworks show.

The event is free to attend.

 

You can enjoy a baseball game this July Fourth.

The Lexington County Blowfish will split up their summer baseball team into two for a 7-inning game that has a two-hour time limit.

There will also be a fireworks show at the end.

Gates open at 6 p.m. and parking is available in the lot across the street for $3.

 

The Town of Lexington is also celebrating Independence Day.

The 246th Army band will play a concert at 7 p.m. followed by a fireworks show at 9:20 p.m.

There will also be beer, wine, nonalcoholic beverages, and food available for purchase.

It all takes place near the Icehouse Amphitheater.
