Richland County coroner identifies person after fatal gas station shooting

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Richland County Coroner Naida Rutherford has released the identity of the person who died after a fatal Wednesday shooting, said the coroner’s office.

The shooting happened on Wednesday, July 2, in the 2200 block of Broad River Road at the CK Mart gas station.

Coroner Rutherford has identified the victim as Deshawn J. Carroway, 29, of Columbia.

The case remains under active investigation.
