FCC approves Skydance merger
(CNN)– The Trump Administration has officially signed off on a blockbuster media merger that will reshape Hollywood and network news.
Thursday, July 24, the Federal Communications Commission approved Skydance Media’s $8 billion takeover of Paramount Global, clearing the way for the deal to close within weeks.
The two-to-one vote was along party lines after months of controversy, including allegations of political interference.
Skydance CEO David Ellison pledged to add an ombudsman at CBS and not introduce new DEI policies which were key conditions for winning support from FCC Chair Brendan Carr.
