Uber to launch new option for women

(CNN)– Uber is launching a new “women preferences” feature in the U.S.

It will allow women riders to see a “women drivers” option when they request a ride on demand or in advance.

Riders can also set a preference option, and women drivers will have the option to request trips with women riders, including during peak earning hours.

The company says testing in overseas markets generated overwhelmingly positive feedback.

The pilot feature is starting in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Detroit in the next few weeks.
