Harbison State Forest to reopen on Tuesday

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– SC Forestry Commission says Harbison State Forest will reopen to the public on Tuesday July 29.

Officials say the decision to reopen on Tuesday, July 27, comes after one dog confirmed to have been involved in at least one of two attacks July 11 and 12 was killed by a homeowner last Monday, July 21.

Also the decision to reopen came about due to another week of patrols, traps, and surveillance providing no indication of the second dog on state forest property.

There will continue to be an increased law enforcement presence at Harbison State Forest and the hours of operation will be from 8 in the morning until 4:30 in the afternoon.
