The South Carolina Forestry Commission is issuing a State Forester’s Burning Ban for all counties, effective at 4 p.m. today.
SC Forestry Commission says Harbison State Forest will reopen to the public on Tuesday.
“With that one remaining dog still not found yet, we do have law enforcement officers patrolling the state forest as well as Harbison State Forest staff and personnel checking the traps throughout the day regularly,” says Stewart.
A dog that is believed to be involved in a recent attack at Harbison State Forest was shot and killed overnight, according to the SC Forestry Commission.
The State Forester’s Burning Ban has been lifted for all but five South Carolina counties
According to the South Carolina Forestry Commission, the current statewide burning ban will be lifted for 41 counties on Monday at 6 a.m. However, Greenville, Horry, Oconee, Pickens, Spartanburg counties will remain under the ban until further notice.
