Rep. Nancy Mace launches campaign for Governor
COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO) — Congresswoman Nancy Mace has announced her decision to enter the race for governor in a video announcement on Monday.
She’s set to speak at The Citadel at 7:30 Monday morning.
In a social media message, Mace says, “Something is broken in South Carolina. They said stay quiet, I spoke up. They said play nice. I fought back. They said sit down, and I stood up. Corruption, chaos, cowardess — I’ve seen it all. Get ready, South Carolina. This isn’t just a campaign, it’s a calling. You and me. God’s not done with South Carolina, and neither am I.”
Mace is expected to announce her candidacy for governor, joining other Republican candidates Lieutenant Governor Pamela Evette, Attorney General Alan Wilson, and Senator Josh Kimbrell. Democratic Rep. Jermaine Johnson has also launched an exploratory committee to consider a run for the position.
Governor McMaster will reach his term limit in 2027.
The SC Gubernatorial Election is Tuesday, November 3, 2026.
