13-year-old charged with attempted murder

BISHOPVILLE, S.C. (WOLO)– Bishopville Police says a 13-year-old has been charged with attempted murder.

Officers say on Friday, Aug. 15, they responded to a report of a shooting at Woodside Apartments.

When police arrived to the apartments, they determined someone has received a serious injury.

The victim was taken to a local hospital for medical treatment.

Following an investigation, the 13-year-old was charged with attempted murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, unlawful possession of a weapon.

The teen is being held at the SC Dept. of Juvenile Justice Detention Center (SCDJJ).

The case remains under investigation.
