White House joins TikTok
(CNN)– The White House has officially joined TikTok even as the app faces a possible U.S. ban.
The official account launched Tuesday, Aug. 19, ahead of a September 17 deadline for parent company Bytedance to sell to a U.S. buyer or be banned nationwide.
President Trump has already delayed enforcement three times, despite bipartisan concerns over national security.
The first post shows President Trump saying, “I am your voice” with a caption reading, “America we are back! what’s up TikTok?”
The account drew more than 20,000 followers on its first day.
