Labor Day Weekend Powerball jackpot hits $1 billion

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– The Powerball drawing on Labor Day weekend just got even bigger.  

 Saturday night, August 30, the game will draw for a $1 billion jackpot.

SC Lottery officials say the advertised jackpot amount has increased by $50 million since Wednesday.

This is the 6th billion-dollar jackpot for the Powerball, and if won tomorrow, it be the largest Powerball prize won since April of 2024.

Players have until 9:59 p.m. to purchase a $2 ticket for the drawing at 10:59 p.m.

Odds of winning the jackpot are about 1 in 293 million.
