Man charged with reckless vehicular homicide after SC trooper’s death

 

 

ORANGEBURG, S.C. (WOLO)– On Friday, August 29, the Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office provided an update on the fatal collision that killed S.C. Highway Patrol Trooper Dennis Ricks.

Sheriff Leroy Ravenell held a press conference at the Orangeburg County Law Enforcement Complex at 11 a.m. on Friday to give the update.

Anthony Aydlette who is accused of killing Ricks was charged with reckless vehicular.

Aydlette is possibly facing a maximum of up to 10 years, and an up to a $5,000 fine.

Trooper First Class Dennis Ricks was just 30-years-old when he died in a North Charleston hospital, after being struck by a box truck during a traffic stop on I-26 on August 10.
