Update: SC Trooper continues to recover after being struck by car while on duty, SC DPS to address recent string of incidents

On Monday the SC Dept. of Public Safety will address the recent string of Troopers being struck on roadways, while on duty.  Count on ABC Columbia News to bring you details of the event.

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)–A South Carolina Highway Patrol officer continues to recover after being struck by a car in the line of duty.

Richland County Deputies say a suspect is in custody after the state trooper was hit by a car Tuesday.
Investigators say Jerrod Ricks was arrested and charged with reckless driving. He was also cited for endangering emergency services personnel.
Master Trooper Wayne LaBounty is recovering, in stable condition, after he was hit during the traffic stop on Augusta Road Tuesday morning.

On Monday the South Carolina Department of Public Safety will hold a press conference addressing the recent string of Troopers being struck on roadways, while on duty.  Count on ABC Columbia News to bring you details of the event.
