15 new foods at the SC State Fair! Check them out with Chef Sandra Lee & ABC Columbia’s Lee Williams

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO) — This year, the South Carolina State Fair is introducing 15 new food items for everyone to enjoy!

As part of an inaugural “Best New Food” contest, ABC Columbia’s Lee Williams served as one of five judges and tried each and every one of them.

He was joined by Emmy Award winning Chef Sandra Lee, and other local media members.

The list of new food items includes:

Giant Tenderloin Sandwich by Ron Smith & David Johnson

Walking Caramel Pretzel Sundae by Leonard Goetz 

Buffalo Chicken or Bacon Pimento Cheese Fries by Gene Timmons

Surf N Turf Alfredo Sundae by Ryan Hagy

Cotton Candy Lemonade by Ryan Hagy & Dustin Hagy

Cantina Pretzel by Louie Ryan Collmer 

 Campfire Burger by Dustin Hagy

Parmesan Steak on a Stick by Dustin Hagy

Deep Fried Cheesecake Trio by Diane Ormes

Reuben Sandwich Pizza Spaghetti by Eddie

Deep Fried Enchiladas Over a Bed of Rice by James Staub

Jim’s Fries by James Staub

Tornado Potatoes by Rasheed Nurudin

Brody’s Mac & Cheese by Jeremy Limerick

Dubai Chocolate or Dubai Strawberries by Syed Mehdi

“Our theme is ‘Harvesting Happiness,’ and the dates are from the 8th through the 19th, and we encourage you to come, especially because we have two great exhibits. We have an Anne Frank exhibit, and we also have a SC 250 Exhibit — celebrating the 250th anniversary of the Revolutionary War,” says Kathy Allen with the fair.

The winner of the best new food contest will be announced soon.
