Coroner identify body found on banks of Congaree River

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)–  Richland County Coroner Naida Rutherford has released the identity of the individual whose body was discovered on the banks of the Congaree River on Tuesday, October 7, 2025.

The body was discovered in the 400 block of Wheat Street.

The victim has been identified as Addison L. Brown, 38, of Aiken.

“We will continue working with the Columbia Police Department to fully investigate this incident,” Coroner Rutherford states.

The case remains under investigation, according to the coroner’s office.
