SC DSS Monitors SNAP Benefits for November amid Federal Government Shutdown

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)–The South Carolina Department of Social Services says it is monitoring the federal government shutdown, and its impact on snap benefits.

According to SC DSS, with the continued federal government shutdown, there may be no SNAP benefits paid for November 2025.

According to DSS, more than 260 thousand families rely on snap benefits or food stamps to put food on the table.
The Department of Social Services says it is alerting the public, out of an abundance of caution, because the agency wants South Carolina families to be prepared if the federal shutdown continues.

DSS is encouraging families to budget their remaining funds carefully and to look to food banks for assistance.
