Lexington Police, Serve & Connect give back as Thanksgiving approaches

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– With Thanksgiving on the way, the Lexington Police Department and Serve and Connect are working to ensure everyone has a holiday meal.

For the past nine years, the Lexington Police Department and Serve and Connect have hosted Bountiful Harvest as a day of giving and receiving with outreach to those in our community who may need food and resources as the Thanksgiving holiday approaches.

Organizers say it is all in the spirit of the season.

The groups report that nearly 1 in 4 children are considered food insecure across Richland County.
