Officers pack groceries for Greg’s Groceries

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– The holiday season is here and law enforcement agencies from across the Carolinas are doing their part to make sure everyone has food on the table.

Hundreds of officers gathered Tuesday morning, Dec. 2, at the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy to pack boxes for Greg’s Groceries.

Greg’s Groceries is an effort sponsored by the non-profit Serve and Connect to give officers a meaningful way to connect with community members outside of enforcement.

Greg’s Groceries is named for Forest Acres Police Officer Greg Alia who lost his life in the line of duty in 2015.

Serve and Connect was founded by his wife Kassy Alia Ray.
