6 displaced after space heater causes home fire
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– Columbia-Richland Fire Department says firefighters worked a space heater fire on Monday afternoon.
Second shift crews responded to a house fire that spread quickly on Candlelite Drive shortly after 4 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 8.
When firefighters arrived to the home, they found smoke coming from the roof of the home, and heavy smoke inside of the structure.
Officials say the cause of the fire was a space heater.
Crews extinguished the fire in the rear of the home as well as the attic.
No one was injured but six people were left displaced.
