More measles cases grow in connection with Upstate outbreak

 

 

 

 

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– SC health officials reported 9 new cases of measles in the state since Friday with an additional school being exposed.

This brings the total number of cases related to the outbreak to 135.

Department of Public Health officials say there are currently 168 people in quarantine and one in isolation.

They recommend everyone get the measles vaccine which they say is 97% effective in preventing the virus.
