ORANGEBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Sheriff Leroy Ravenell says an Orangeburg man has been charged after a child was sexually assaulted for years.
Sheriff Ravenell says 36-year-old Steven Hodges was charged with first-degree criminal sexual conduct and unlawfully placing a child at risk or harm.
“We put an end to one nightmare, and I hope the court bring full justice in this case,” the sheriff says.
Orangeburg County Sheriff’s investigators were notified by a caregiver of a sexual assault incident that occurred in mid-November.
Investigators discovered multiple incidents happened over five years.
If convicted the Arquette Court man faces a sentence of 25 years to life in prison.
“There is no sentence possible that could be enough for this individual,” continues Sheriff Ravenell.
Bond was denied for Hodges during a hearing on early Tuesday.
