COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO) — Thousands of people ventured out on Saturday to get a peak at Buddhist monks on their Walk for Peace as they made their way to the Statehouse.
The monks began their walk in Fort Worth, Texas — and are traveling over 2,000 miles to Washington, D.C.
Along with their dog, Aloka, they made their way through West Columbia before walking over the Gervais Street Bridge, and then speaking to a crowd of onlookers from the Statehouse steps.
The monks then made their way down Main Street, continuing on their journey to the nation’s capital.
