RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– SCDOT says the replacement of the US 601 bridge over Colonels Creek in Richland County has been completed.
The bridge is now open to traffic.
The former bridge was inspected and determined to be structurally deficient, requiring full replacement to ensure the safety of the traveling public, says SCDOT.
In response to the need, SCDOT accelerated the replacement project to address the condition of the bridge as quickly as possible while minimizing impacts to motorists.
SC Department of Transportation says the new bridge meets current design and safety standards and provides a durable, long-term solution for the corridor.
