2 arrested after Wednesday afternoon traffic stop
SUMTER COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– A Wednesday afternoon traffic stop resulted in the arrest of two individuals who were found to be in possession of a stolen handgun, say deputies.
The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office says a deputy saw a vehicle traveling at a high speed on Patriot Parkway.
After performing a traffic stop deputies performed a probable cause search of the vehicle and discovered a stolen handgun.
Investigators say the gun had been modified with a switch to enable it to fire automatically.
Both Cermoun Anthony James, Jr., 19, and Tamyra Iyanna Davis, 21, were arrested and taken to the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center.
They were charged with possession of a stolen handgun, and possession of a machine gun.
James and Davis were released on bond Thursday, January 15, 2026.
