Midlands men arrested on child sexual abuse material charges

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– SC Attorney General Alan Wilson says two men have been arrested on three total charges connected to the sexual exploitation of a minor.

Investigators they received CyberTipline reports from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) which led them to Donald Cyril Barkhoff, 52, of Columbia, and Ethan Rylee Roberts, 18, of Lexington.

Investigators state Barkhoff possessed files of child sexual abuse material and Roberts distributed files of child sexual abuse material.

Barkhoff was arrested on January 13, 2026, and charged with two counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, (third degree).

Roberts was arrested on January 14, 2026, and charged with one count of sexual exploitation of a minor, (second degree ).
