Columbia-Richland Fire Dept. held groundbreaking ceremony for new fire station location
RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Columbia firefighters will soon be able to more quickly serve residents in the Olympia area.
Wednesday, February 4, 2026, the fire department held a groundbreaking ceremony for a new fire station on Hamrick Street.
Firefighters say the new station will help them further their mission to quickly respond to emergencies throughout Columbia.
When it is completed the Olympia Station will be the departments 21st in Richland County.
