UPDATE: Lexington Co. Coroner identifies homicide victim at Villa Court

WEST COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO) — The Lexington County Coroner’s Office has identified a homicide victim found in West Columbia Sunday.

According to Coroner Margaret Fisher, Hoyt Mitchell Jennings, 47, of Columbia, was found shot dead in the upper body outside of a residence in the 100 block of Villa Court at approximately 4:40 p.m.

Deputies say one person has been detained in relation to this incident and believe there’s no threat to the public.

The Lexington County Coroner’s Office and the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department continue to investigate this incident.
