Microsoft pledges $50 billion to bring Ai to more countries

(CNN)– Microsoft is planning to invest $50 billion to expand artificial intelligence in poorer, developing countries.

The company made the announcement Wednesday, Feb. 18, at a global Ai summit in India.

A recent report found Ai use in wealthier countries is about twice that of developing regions.

Executives warn the growing Ai divide could mirror past gaps, like unequal access to electricity.

Microsoft leaders say the investment will focus on infrastructure, like data centers, and internet access.
